Introductory course for science, engineering or agriculture majors. Liquids, solids, intermolecular forces, phase diagrams, solution chemistry, solubility, colligative properties, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibria, acid-base equilibria, aqueous ionic equilibria, titrations, buffers, solubility equilibria, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Lecture 3 hours per week. Corequisite: 颁贬贰惭听14201 and related course component drill section for 颁贬贰惭听14203. Prerequisite: 颁贬贰惭听14103 (or 颁贬贰惭听12073, or satisfactory performance on the chemistry proficiency exam) and 惭础罢贬听11003 or higher, or AP Calculus AB 3C or higher, or AP Calculus BC 4C or higher, or 惭础罢贬听11003 CLEP with a score of 54 or higher, or UA Math Placement 46 or higher, or ACT MATH 22 or higher, or new SAT MATH 540/old SAT Math 540 or higher.
