This course introduces students to the origin and evolution of Occupational Science, the study of humans as occupational beings, and its dynamic relationship to occupational therapy. Students will examine specific occupations and the dynamics of occupation across the lifespan as they explore how occupational scientists have brought their critical perspectives to bear on topics/issues essential to competent OT practice. Students will learn about the occupational perspective as it applies to occupational engagement across the lifespan, context, co-occupations, occupational justice, and storytelling.
