Provides didactic content to prepare family nurse practitioner students to deliver comprehensive primary care to adult and geriatric patients with common acute illnesses affecting multiple body systems. Integrating evidence-based practices from biomedical, psychological, social, and nursing fields, students will learn to conduct thorough diagnoses, develop management plans, select appropriate diagnostic procedures and tests, and implement effective follow-up care strategies. The curriculum emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and screening protocols for all adult age groups, with a particular focus on underserved populations and diverse cultural backgrounds. By fostering an approach of cultural humility, the course encourages ongoing self-reflection and lifelong learning in providing culturally appropriate care.
