This course examines the history of Mexico from pre-Columbian to modern times. Emphasis will be placed on the turbulent nineteenth century and the Mexican Revolution. Themes covered include the rise of the Aztec Empire, colonial legacies, national identities, popular culture, and relations with the United States. (Typically offered: Fall)
