Covers the low-temperature geochemistry of waters and their associated minerals at Earth's surface. Examines the controls on the chemical composition of natural waters and the minerals precipitated from them. Topics covered will include water-rock interactions, pH, redox, the carbonate-water system, clay minerals and exchange, heavy metals, and a brief introduction to stable isotopes and geomicrobiology. Prerequisite: 颁贬贰惭听14203/颁贬贰惭听14201 and (骋贰翱尝听11103/骋贰翱尝听11101 or 骋贰翱厂听11504). (Typically offered: Fall)
