This seminar provides an introduction to the major concepts and issues related to multicultural education and social justice in education and the ways in which race, ethnicity, class, gender, and exceptionality influence students' behavior. The course also examines the intersection of teacher and student perceptions of identity, schooling, and learning and the effects on educational systems. Prerequisite: Admission to MAT program (SEEDMA or EDUCMA) or Master of Education in CIED (CIEDME). (Typically offered: Summer)聽May be repeated for up to 6 hours of degree credit.
