BMEGÂ 462H3. Honors Biomedical Transport Phenomena. 3 Hours.
An introduction to the modeling of complex biological systems using principles of transport phenomena and biochemical kinetics. This course will cover molecular transport due to velocity, concentration and thermal gradients. Topics include the conservation relations; rheology of Newtonian and non-Newtonian physiological fluids; regulation of blood flow; steady and transient diffusion in reacting systems; dimensional analysis; transport processes in disease pathology. Prerequisite: µþ²Ñ·¡³ÒÌý36503, °ä±á·¡³ÒÌý21303 or ²Ñ·¡·¡³ÒÌý35003, °ä±á·¡³ÒÌý23103 or ²Ñ·¡·¡³ÒÌý24003, and ²Ñ´¡°Õ±áÌý25804. (Typically offered: Fall)
